Raid 2 Movie Review: 25,000 tickets sold in 1 hour… why are theatres still empty?
When tickets are sold out so loudly, yet people on social media are seen looking for empty seats in the theatre, the question is bound to arise – who to trust? Raid 2 has really killed Raid, but this time on people’s minds.
Is the film believable?
Films featuring Ajay Devgn and his’ family audience ‘are often cleverly made – even more dangerous remakes and sequels than the originals. This time too, full arrangements have been made to collect money by bringing a sequel to the 7-year-old raid. But does just adding ‘2 “to the name make the film doubly good? The answer is – no.
The biggest problem with Raid 2 – the predictable story
Would you like to buy a ticket of ₹400 – ₹500 for a suspense thriller in which the next scene can be guessed in advance? The track of Raid 2 is the same old – fool the public, talk sequel, and loot the money.
The conundrum of the story – who is the thief and who is honest?
Right from the beginning of the film, the audience is hooked. The thief turns out to be the real messiah of the poor, and the hero turns out to be the bribe taker. Everything is topsy-turvy, but there is a huge lack of both drama and suspense.
Same old style, new face – but no effect.
The film is promoted based on Riteish Deshmukh’s new character, but as the film progresses, he is sidelined and the entire focus is on Ajay Devgn – that’s the biggest crime of the film.
The 5 biggest weaknesses of Raid 2:
- Suspense missing: The name is suspense thriller, but the story is completely predictable.
- Character wasted: Strong actors like Supriya Pathak, and Ritesh Deshmukh were not used
- properly the story is cold and dull: No power, no turn.
- Only Ajay Devgan is made to shine: Everyone else is sidelined.
- Misuse of family audience: Sold as simple, but nothing was given.
Do you want to see the movie Raid 2?
If you are just a fan of Ajay Devgan’s acting and want to watch a light-hearted movie with family, then you can book tickets. But if you are looking for a story, suspense,, and script, then definitely try a Malayalam movie like Thudaaram – which will teach you what real suspense is.
Rating: 1.5 out of 5 stars
1 Star: Dada bhai’s character and Riteish’s presence in some scenes
0.5 stars: Good work by the supporting actors
The final decision:
Raid 2 is a wasted opportunity. This film deceives the audience – both with the story and with the acting. If you don’t want to be wasted, it’s better to stay away from the theatre.
